RECORE aims to become one of the most sustainable business campuses in Flanders. This commitment extends even to the heart of the site: the building’s heating and cooling systems. To make this possible, we are leveraging our comprehensive expertise. Our knowledge of drilling, sustainable technologies, and design-build approaches really shines here. Each connection was uniquely designed and tailored to the specific needs of the building and the end user.

  • Client: Futurn
  • Period: 2024–2026
  • Location: Hasselt
  • Solution: Geothermal Energy
  • Technology: Ground-Source Heat Pump – HVAC

Behind the Scenes

  • In Building A1, we opted for a central energy plant with large storage tanks for heating, as well as passive and active cooling.
  • For C4/C5, a concept involving individual supply was developed so that each SME unit can make optimal and sustainable use of the geothermal network.
  • We are currently working on the new B2 building, which will soon house De Watergroep.

A Sustainable Approach to the Project

  • SDG 7 – With the geothermal power plant, we are making affordable and sustainable energy available to businesses.
  • SDG 11 – Using energy more efficiently makes this business park more environmentally friendly.
  • SDG 13 – Our innovative solutions facilitate the transition from fossil fuels to green cooling and heating technologies. This enables the office complex to reduce its CO2 emissions.
