Dewatering

Peace of mind right from the source

Groundwater that puts pressure on a construction site or a sensitive environment requires more than just a standard pump. We take care of everything for you, from the permit application to project execution, from dewatering to foundation work. This turns your challenge into a controlled process: dry, safe, predictable, and mindful of the environment.

Applications

No matter what dewatering challenge you face, we can provide you with a high-quality solution for:

  • Major infrastructure projects
  • Sewer projects
  • Construction pits
  • Industrial projects
  • Utility networks

Advice regarding dewatering

Our in-house design and engineering department assesses the hydrogeological situation and guides you through the entire authorisation process. We take full charge of the case, ensuring a proper approach that complies with all legal requirements. Depending on the subsurface and the construction phase, we select the most appropriate technique. In doing so, we take into account economic efficiency and technical requirements.

Dewatering

Dewatering by filtration is frequently used in shallow construction pits and sewer projects. In this process, filter elements are lowered to the required depth—either manually or mechanically—and connected to flexible above-ground pumping systems (piston pumps). The goal is to achieve a limited reduction in the groundwater level.

For large-scale infrastructure projects and construction sites where deeper groundwater lowering is required, choose dewatering using deep wells. In this method, groundwater is pumped out using submersible pumps in drilled wells. This type of dewatering can range from relatively simple gravity-fed systems to complex, frequency-controlled, and/or vacuum-controlled dewatering systems.

To minimize the impact on nature and the environment, whenever possible, a backflow system can ensure that groundwater is returned to the subsurface in a controlled manner.

Dewatering water is treated before discharge, reuse, or return. Depending on the contaminants found, various treatment steps are used, including sand filters, activated carbon, or resin filters.

A wick drain is suitable for preparing your sites for construction. This process accelerates the dewatering of less permeable and settlement-prone layers.

Horizontal dewatering is ideal for expansive or linear construction sites, such as cable and pipeline routes. This minimizes the impact on the construction site.

Logging and automation

Automatic and remote follow-up and guidance allow immediate action, reduced water consumption, and continuously optimized operations. Consequently, we offer a response to the more stringent licensing.
