Cloudburst Tunnels in Copenhagen
We constructed two microtunneling projects for the city of Copenhagen, known as Kalvebod Brygge. In 2011, the city experienced extreme rainfall that caused significant damage. Due to climate change, the city expects more frequent and intense downpours. These two underground tunnels collect rainwater during heavy downpours, also known as “cloudbursts.”

Sustainability
- SDG 9 – The traditional method for settlement control and monitoring of tunnel boring processes is quite time-consuming and does not provide accurate enough real-time data. With our automated, online monitoring system, we can better manage potential risks during tunnel construction.
- SDG 11 – We are helping to build resilient cities while causing as little disruption as possible to existing infrastructure. We were able to cross the subway, railways, and buildings with minimal impact.
