Timbered Trenches


To timber literally means to apply timber. The timbered trenches technique consists in manually digging a trench in the ground. Small prefab concrete panels continuously support the walls and props keep these panels clamped, preventing the trench walls from caving in. The soil excavated in the narrow trench is taken to the surface using a bucket and a pulley
